About Student Visa

The Student Visa (Subclass 500) is designed for international students who wish to study in Australia. It allows you to stay in the country for the duration of your course and offers the flexibility to work part-time while you study.

For short-term studies, you can also consider a tourist visa (up to 3 months) or a Work and Holiday visa (up to 4 months). However, if you plan to study for longer, the Student Visa is the ideal choice.

With this visa, you can:

  • Enroll in full-time courses at Australian CRICOS-registered institutions.

  • Work up to 48 hours per fortnight during your studies and unlimited hours during holidays.

  • Bring eligible family members with you as dependents.

  • Pathway to Permanent Residency: Gain eligibility for a Temporary Graduate Visa, which can lead to permanent residency (Check the Migration Through Education)

Duration of Stay

The Student Visa allows you to remain in Australia for the length of your course, with additional time at the end for travel or planning your next steps. The extra time depends on the duration of your program:

  • Courses Less Than 10 Months: You will receive an additional 1 month after your course completion.

  • Courses 10 Months or Longer: You will receive an extra 2 months to wrap up your stay.

This flexible timeframe ensures you have adequate time to enjoy your Australian experience and plan your future endeavors.
